How to Make an Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy Napkin DIY Decor
Mix a bit of your black and navy paints to create a dark blue and paint the sides of the Dollar Tree sign box with the new color.
Then, paint the back of the sign box with white paint. This prevents the brown from showing through the napkin when you decoupage it.
How to Decoupage
To decoupage your lemon napkin, separate the napkin plies and cut one of the quarters out. If you don’t, the top ply might not adhere properly and could start to pull up later.
Apply a coat of Mod Podge over the white paint and place the lemon napkin design on the surface. Ball up some plastic saran wrap and use it to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles in the napkin.
I used my heat gun to quickly dry the Mod Podge, then used a sanding sponge to remove any excess napkin from the edges.
Finish your lemon napkin DIY decor
Apply a coat of Mod Podge over the napkin. Then, get either floral wire or Dollar Tree wired jute cord and wood beads to make the hanger for this easy lemon napkin DIY decor.
If you use a Dollar Tree wired jute cord, remove the jute from the wire, then thread the beads onto the wire.
I put a bit of hot glue on the wire to keep the beads in place, then drilled two holes in the top of the sign box for the wire to go through.
Push the wire through the holes and twist it to keep it from pulling out the holes. You can also put a dab of hot glue to secure the wire even more.
