How to Make a Dollar Tree DIY Pumpkin Patch Shelf Sitter
If you use the same Dollar Tree tall Fall sign that I used to make my pumpkin patch, you’ll need to remove the elevated pumpkin from the top of the sign.
I used a putty knife to scrape the pumpkin off the sign, then flipped the sign over and laid it flat on my craft table.
Use something sturdy with a straight edge to help you cut straight lines on the Dollar Tree sign with a razor (like a box cutter).
Then, break the sign where you cut the lines. The pieces you cut will be the pumpkins in your patch. Paint one of the rectangles with navy paint and the other with white paint.
Add your details to your pumpkin patch
Allow the paint to dry completely, then use a circle paint sponge to paint white circles on the blue pumpkin. Then, paint navy dots on the white pumpkin.
Again, let all the paint dry. I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process. Then, I painted yellow swirls on the white polka dots.
Paint yellow polka dots around the navy dots and add a short line in the navy dots. Almost like a bubble’s glimmer.
Cut four pieces of the giant craft sticks (to create the stems for the pumpkins) and stain them with brown paint.
Spray the wood with water, pour the paint onto the surface, and use a wet wipe to spread the paint across the sticks.
Then, you need to stain four wood craft cubes. The easiest way (in my opinion) to do that is to mix water and brown paint in a bowl, put the craft cubes in the bowl, and swirl until they’re all coated.
Use a paper towel to wipe off any excess paint from the cubes, let them dry, then hot glue them to the front of the Dollar Tree Fall block.
Bring it all together
Hot glue the stained craft sticks on the back of the pumpkins, sticking up from the top, to create the stems for your pumpkins.
Now, make a bow out of the blue and white striped fabric. You can see exactly how I made my bows in the tutorial video on Youtube.
Then, hot glue the bows to the base of the stems. Hot glue your Tumbling Tower Blocks on the bottom of the pumpkins and hot glue them inside the block.
Finally, fill the inside of the block with Dollar Tree Spanish Moss and hot glue some of the Dollar Tree eucalyptus coming from the bows.
