How to Make a DIY Standing Rope Wreath
To use a Dollar Tree rope dog toy to make this adorable standing rope wreath, you have to first take apart the dog toy.
Untie the knots at the ends of the rope and unwind the braid. Once you have the strands separated, start wrapping the rope around the foam ring and glue it in place.
Completely cover the foam ring with the unwound Dollar Tree dog toy rope, then cut the Dollar Tree grill topper to fit over the opening of the ring. Glue the grill topper in place.
Paint the stand
I poured a line of the Apple Barrel burnt umber acrylic paint and a line of the Apple Barrel pewter grey acrylic paint onto the wood plaque for the base of my wreath stand.
Use a paintbrush to mix and spread the two paints across the wood plaque and allow the paint to dry completely. Use the excess paint to paint two wood dowels as well.
Bring it all together
Once the paint is dry, distress the wood plaque and the dowels with a sanding sponge. Then, drill two holes in the wood plaque for the wood dowels to sit in.
Push the dowels into the holes in the plaque. Then, push the other ends of the dowels through the rope and into the floral foam ring.
Trim the stems of your Dollar Tree fake succulents and glue them onto the Dollar Tree grill topper! Lastly, tie a little bow with raffia strands and some of the dog toy rope, and glue the bow onto the wreath!
