I absolutely love a challenge and I really love a home decor craft challenge! This month in the Creative Haven VIP members got to submit ideas for things we were going to make. The top suggestion was to make a DIY Farmhouse Scale using Dollar Tree Items. I have not yet made one of these so I am beyond excited to use my creative mind to make one this week in the Creative Haven.

For this DIY Farmhouse Scale using Dollar Tree Items I had to think outside the box and use what I had! I have plenty of supplies but the question was did I have the perfect items! YES, I SURE DID! You can see the items I will be using but the full tutorial well, that is something for Creative Haven members only!

Easy Home Decor DIY’s

Decorative and functional decor

For this home decor DIY, most of the supplies you will need for this craft are going to be found in the Dollar Tree Crafters square section, but if you do not have access to a crafters square you can use items found in other stores like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanns, and maybe even Walmart or Dollar General! Plus you can substitute where you want as well! We are going to make a decorative farmhouse balancing scale to use as home decor.

February 1st, 2021 Supply List for DIY Farmhouse Scale using Dollar Tree Items

You will need: (items shown in the photo or any substitution you prefer) Don’t forget, you are not required to use the exact items! “As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.” 

• Dollar Tree plunger handles you will need 2 (we will be cutting these
• Dollar Tree wood circles 7 inch round (they are plaid brand but I got them at dollar tree)
• Long sign block from Dollar Tree the one I am using was from Halloween it is about 14 inches long and 2 inches wide
• Brown Paint and white paint
• 2 packs of plant hangers
• Notebook rings (large) about 2 inches round
• Scrapbook paper of your choice I’m using an 8×10 sheet
• Large 40 mm wood bead just 1
• Modpodge
• Glue Gun
• Glue Sticks
• E6000 glue (optional)
• Brushes
• Scissors
• Drill and Drill bits and a saw or cutting tool

The supply list is a list of what will be used, but there are no specifications as to how much of the items you will need. This will be determined after the project has been completed. 

Please substitute where you can!

If it is not in your budget to purchase supplies, please get creative and think outside the box! Ask yourself, “What else could you use?” Furthermore, do you have things at home you can use? You can still craft with us! BUYING SUPPLIES FOR THE CRAFTS in the Creative Haven is not a requirement. I simply want you to craft with us and make it your own.
