How to Make DIY Farmhouse Decor with a Free Printable
Go ahead and remove the backing and glass insert from your picture frame. Then, cut off the white space from around the free printable design with a pair of scissors. By the way, I am so in love with how this free crafters printable turned out. The quote is priceless!
I traced the picture frame’s glass insert on the back of the polkadot scrapbook paper and then cut the paper to the right size.
Apply a coat of Mod Podge directly to the glass insert, then place the scrapbook paper onto the Mod Podge. Use a rolling pin to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles in the paper.
Let the Mod Podge dry (I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process), then dry place the printable design cutout and mark where it’s going to go.
Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the back of the printable design and place it on the scrapbook paper. Again, you can use a rolling pin to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles.
Before you put the decoupaged glass insert back into the frame, you need to add a bit of white paint to the picture frame. I used a small paintbrush to apply the paint then smudged it with my fingers.
Once the paint is dry, put the decoupaged glass insert and the picture frame’s backing back into the frame.
Make your DIY bow
To make this DIY bow you are going to take two pieces of Lamb’s Ear greenery and lay them with the stems together. I used a bit of hot glue to secure the two pieces together. (Consider trying my DIY Napkin bow too)
Next, you’re going to make the bow for this adorable DIY home decor with free printable! First, cut two strips of the black and white striped fabric.
Loop the first strip of fabric over itself. Then, fold the second strip into the shape of a bow. Cut two strips of the burlap ribbon, then get a handful of raffia.
Place the burlap ribbon strips in an X on top of the striped fabric loop, then put your raffia bundle on top of the burlap. Put the second piece of fabric on top, and secure it all with a piece of jute twine.
How to make a DIY hanger
I wanted to keep the hanger for this project simple and neutral, so I didn’t paint or stain the wooden beads before I threaded them onto the jute twine. You can make your bead hanger however you like.
Once you have all the beads you want on the twine, tie the ends together to create a full circle. Then, hot glue the ends of the twine to the back of the picture frame.
You can hot glue a piece of ribbon or fabric over the ends of the jute twine to make the hanger more secure, if you wanted to.
Finally, hot glue the lamb’s ear greenery to the front of the picture frame, and hot glue the adorable DIY bow over the lamb’s ear greenery stems!
