DIY Dollar Tree Church
This DIY Dollar Tree Church is the kind of budget home decor that you can display in your home all year long! It’s affordable to make, and so simple and neutral that it’ll blend seamlessly with your decor.
I love making my own home decor because of several reasons, but one of the biggests is because of how much money it saves me!
Instead of going to a big retailer and spending a ton of money on decor that probably won’t match my vision perfectly, I get to craft my own and bring my personality and style out in my own way!
How to make a DIY Dollar Tree Church
I used wax paper to measure out the interior shape of my Dollar Tree house shape sign and used the wax paper as a template to cut the scrapbook paper to fit inside the sign.
Then, I painted the embossed scrapbook paper with the DecoArt zinc acrylic paint. Once that was dry, I lightly dry-brushed white paint across the embossed detailing of the scrapbook paper.
Next, I painted the interior of the house shape sign with white paint, allowed it to dry, and painted the edges of the inside with the same zinc acrylic paint.
Afterwards, I decided to use the DecoArt pebble acrylic paint and painted the frame of the house shape sign, the giant craft stick, and the slim popsicle sticks.
Once every thing was dry, I decoupaged the scrapbook paper to the inside of the house shaped sign and lightly distressed the frame of the house shaped sign.
Next, I measured and trimmed the slim popsicle sticks to create the roof portion of the church as well as the cross for the peak. Then, I measured and cut the giant craft stick to make the door.
Lastly, I created my little potted plants with wood beads. Stain them and glue two of them together to create your pot, then insert your greenery. Glue them to the interior edge of the church!
I hope you enjoyed this DIY Dollar Tree Church as much as I did and decide to make it for yourself! I would love to see how yours turns out!
