Large Peace Christmas Ornament Idea
Who doesn’t love a good ornament DIY? I love to make my own ornaments for my Christmas tree, and I am very excited to hang this large peace Christmas ornament idea in my living room!
In my opinion, making your own ornaments adds such a personalized touch to your Christmas decor that you just can’t get with store-bought ornaments.
How to Make this Large Peace Christmas Ornament Idea
I started this project by cutting the black and white polka dot fabric to be the same size and shape as the 6.5-inch wooden circle.
Then, I applied a coat of Mod Podge directly to the wooden circle and placed the fabric circle onto it.
Use a rolling pin to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles in the fabric, then allow the Mod Podge to dry completely.
Next, I painted the Dollar Tree wooden snowflake ornament with white paint. I like to use Apple Barrel or DecoArt because they are both so affordable but still of great quality!
While the paint is wet, spread the white glitter on the snowflake. Cut the beaded necklace so that it is just one strand of beads and hot glue it around the outer edge of the wooden circle.
Bring it all together
I tied a small bow out of the red buffalo check ribbon and kept the tails rather long. You can always trim them down later.
Then, I hot glued the snowflake to the center of the wooden circle and glued some bling from Totally Dazzled in the center of the snowflake.
I cut two pieces of the Christmas greenery and hot glued them at the top of the wooden circle.
Hot glue the little bow at the very top of the circle, trim the tails, and hot glue a bell over its center.
Next up is the hanger. I cut a strip of the black and white striped ribbon and hot glued the ends of it to the back of the wooden circle.
Lastly, I picked out my saying with my scrabble tiles! I chose to make my ornament say “PEACE,” but you can use whatever word or phrase you prefer.
Either way, hot glue your scrabble tiles onto the wooden circle below the snowflake. Once the glue is dry, you’re ready to hang this adorable large peace Christmas ornament on your tree!
I hope you enjoyed this Large Peace Christmas Ornament Idea as much as I did and decide to make one for yourself! I would love to see how yours turns out!
