DIY Mop String Planter
This DIY Mop String Planter is seriously so easy to make! I took those simple wooden boxes and with a little bit of hot glue and creativity, created an adorable farmhouse planter!
Seriously, I didn’t even paint anything! Some of my DIY ideas can get a little complicated, but I really kept it simple with this one!
If you’re a beginner DIY’er, or not sure if you have what it takes to make your own home decor, you HAVE to give this simple Dollar Tree DIY mop string planter a try. I mean it!

- Dollar Tree Floral Foam
- Dollar Tree Wood Craft Cubes
- Wood Boxes
- Half wood beads
- Napkin Rings
- Greenery
- Hot Glue gun
- Glue Sticks
How to Make a DIY Mop String Planter
Hot glue your two wooden boxes together with the drawers removed. Then, remove the plastic piece that secures the mop strings together.
Wrap the mop strings around the two wooden boxes and hot glue them in place. Next, I hot glued Dollar Tree nautical rope around the top and bottom edges of the two boxes.
Hot glue the four Dollar Tree wood craft cubes on the bottom of the wood boxes to create the feet for this DIY mop string planter.
I chose to hot glue some half wood beads to the front of the planter. Then, I hot glued a mop string t to the short sides and put a napkin ring on each one to create “handles”.
Finally, put the floral foam on each side of the wooden boxes and push your floral/greenery stems into the foam!
