How to Make DIY Home Decor with Doll House Furniture
Start this project by removing the mirror from your Dollar Tree framed mirrors. You’re going to cover the space where the mirror was with popsicle sticks.
Hot glue the popsicle sticks onto the back of the frame, covering where the mirror was. Then, you’re going to paint the popsicle sticks with a dark brown paint.
When I first made this project I used Dixie Belle chalk paint because that is what I had on hand. For the popsicle sticks, I used Coffee Bean which is a dark brown (with black) paint.
I would recommend using Apple Barrel paints because they are much more affordable and still good quality for DIY crafts!
Next, paint the frame of the Dollar Tree framed mirror with grey paint. Again, I used Dixie Belle chalk paint, but Apple Barrel would work just fine for this.
First, paint the dollhouse dressers white. Allow the white paint to dry completely, then paint the dressers with navy paint. The Dixie Belle color I used was In the Navy.
Allow the navy paint to dry (I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process) then paint the knobs of the dressers white. I just dabbed my paintbrush with white paint onto the knobs.
Bring it all together
Paint over the popsicle sticks with white paint (I used Dixie Belle Fluff) and allow it to dry completely.
The white paint helps the navy dresser really pop inside the frame and brightens up this DIY decor. I painted the bottom of the dresser white, then hot glued it onto the popsicle sticks.
